STHL - What's New?
Connecting The Dots For Better Healthcare
Your
"YES!" makes it happen!
Join the many patients in the Southern Tier
who are "connecting the dots" among their area healthcare
providers in order to receive better care. They are
opting in to the STHL health information
exchange (HIE), which authorizes their healthcare providers
to share their HIE medical record electronically, when and
where it is needed. Your HIE record includes services
you may have had at both Lourdes and UHS/UMA facilities, so
your provider will have a more complete medical record to
better understand your healthcare needs.

STHL Poster Insert in the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin
As
a first step to get the word out about the HIE to the
broader community, we placed a one page insert in the
Thursday, January 28th edition of The Binghamton Press and
Sun Bulletin. If you didn't get yours,
And watch for other informational flyers, brochures,
articles and ads in the coming months!

“...(T)he Surgeon General
encourages Americans to talk about and to write down the
health problems that seem to run in their family. Learning
about their family's health history may help ensure a
longer, healthier future together,” advises
the US Department of Health and Human Services. We
echo this suggestion. Families that discuss their medical history
provide the key to helping current
and future generations manage their own health. The
U.S. Surgeon General’s Office offers a free web tool
(https://familyhistory.hhs.gov ) to help you build a
family tree that tracks relationships and medical
information. Create your family history file
and download it to a personal computer to update the
tree as your relatives share more information over time.
