About Us

Connecting the Dots for Better Healthcare

Southern Tier HealthLink NY (STHL) was established with leadership and support from United Health Services, Lourdes Hospital and other stakeholders in 2005. STHL is a non-profit organization designed as a partnership which brings together healthcare providers and consumers in Central New York with technology that will improve health care quality, access, and safety while reducing costs.

STHL began with funding from New York State ($3.5M from HEAL 1 in 2006 and $7.8M from HEAL 5 in 2008) to build the foundation for health information exchange in our region. Our current project region includes six counties in the region (Broome, Chenango, Tioga, Delaware, Cortland, and Cayuga) with approximately 470,000 residents, 9 hospitals, and over 800 physicians. Our region may expand in the coming years to include even more counties in NY.  Click on the map below to see the NYS county map of RHIO regions.

In the future, STHL will offer a range of related services to the healthcare industry across New York State, including electronic services for medication and referral management, diagnostic services, preventative medicine, and disease management – all supported by technology, training, clinical process improvement, and incentives.
